David retired in 2005 as a senior Director of McKinsey & Company where he worked since 1980 based in Sydney acting as a firm leader within the Asia Pacific region. David led McKinsey's relationships with Australian and New Zealand global leaders in mining, dairy, and pulp and paper to improve their profitability and growth. He was one of the McKinsey’s leading energy and basic materials experts; the builder of the New Zealand practice; and one of the leaders of their firm’s people development processes locally and globally. He has experience in various stages of private equity investing and was formerly an Independent Non-Executive Director of the Babcock and Brown Direct Investment Fund.
David holds a Masters in Business Administration (High Distinction) from the Harvard Business School and a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (cum laude) from the University of the Witwatersrand. David received the honour of a Member (A.M.) in the General Division of the Order of Australia in 2012 for service to the community through leadership and board executive roles.
